Band member hopeful

Meet the youngest prospective member of Small Pet Advisory, Laura Grace. She's working really hard at learning to play guitar and the fiddle. She plays a mean "Mary Had a Little Lamb", and I hear tell she can play a break on "Boil the Cabbages."

Pictures from first gig!

Small Pet AdvisoryWe have pictures from our first gig. This is most of Small Pet Advisory. We have (from the left), Barb on mandolin, Uncle Chuck on fiddle, Greg on banjo, Cheryl on guitar and Joe on bass. Our other member, Kristin, couldn't make this gig. Cheryl has these pictures up on her Flickr account, and they're even tagged with
"smallpetadvisory", so go poke around.

happy birthday, bsktcase!

Happy Birthday to our principal guitar player! I hope most of you can make it to the dinner at Chevy's in her honor.

First gig post mortem

Well, it's not really a post mortem, per se. But, we played a gig at refreshment after Southgate Chapter's birthday night meeting tonight and it didn't go too badly.

Our set list for the evening:

  • Banjo in the Hollow
  • Roll In My Sweet Baby's Arms
  • Cripple Creek
  • Keep On The Sunny Side
  • Foggy Mountain Breakdown
  • Bile 'Em Cabbage Down

We all had a really good time playing, and everybody seemed to enjoy it. I don't know about the rest of the band, but several of the folks came up to me and complimented the band.

I'd call it a success.

Upcoming gig of sorts

We will perform during refreshment after Southgate Chapter's meeting next Monday night, June 19, at Southgate Masonic Center in Burien.

Our fans are advised to keep their expectations low at this point. :)

Practice tonight

Don't forget, we rehearse tonight at the home of der Kapellmeister, 7 PM.
